What we stand for

Reflection.
Acceptance. Empowerment.

No matter what stage of life you are in you may have challenges, triggers, and obstacles. The loneliness and isolation that comes from a lack of being supported, understood, and truly seen can threaten your sense of connection and well-being. This applies to individuals, couples, parents, children and all the people in your life who really matter.

Through a unique process of reflection, acceptance, and empowerment we help our clients tap into their confidence and potential giving them the opportunity to change the dynamic, strengthen those connections and allow new ways of relating to one another.

Our Approach

Person-centered therapy with a holistic approach.

We believe counseling is a client's journey of self-exploration, intended to enhance their self-understanding and awareness. As the facilitator on this journey, we prioritize your unique needs, goals, and overall well-being encompassing the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual aspects. Helping you develop the tools and confidence to excel in your relationships and life.

FAQs

We’re here to help.

We’re here to support you by answering any questions you may have.

Still have a question? Feel free to contact us.

  • Online therapy works in the same way as in-office therapy, but is done online, similar to a Zoom or FaceTime conversation. It offers convenience and flexibility, for you to schedule sessions at times that suit you best, avoid the need for travel and attend from any private location of your choosing. Sessions are held through a secured platform that is HIPPA-Compliant.

  • Online therapy allows you to work with us from the comfort of home, work, or any other convenient location. For some this alone makes the challenging work of being vulnerable in therapy a little easier.

At Raecounseling, your clinician is licensed in multiple states allowing clients the potential to have sessions even when traveling out of state, if in the identified states: FL, NH, MA, and ME.

If you need suggestions on ways to get privacy for the sessions or have any other concerns about video sessions we are happy to help just fill out our contact form and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

  • Online therapy is particularly beneficial for those that travel for work, individuals living in remote or rural locations and for anyone with a challenging or inconsistent day-to-day schedule.

It is a great choice for clients seeking a therapist with a particular specialty that they are unable to find support for locally. Some of our clients report that online therapy makes the vulnerability element of therapy a bit less intimidating.

  • No. For some clients with more complex symptoms or safety concerns, having a local therapist that is readily available is important in case of crisis or the need for a higher level of care. Online therapy is also a challenge for clients that do not have access to a private, quiet space to be “in session” or for those that do not have adequate internet connectivity.

  • There are several reasons why we don’t accept insurance.

    The most important are:

Confidentiality. Insurance companies require that your information be shared with them in order to pay for services. We prefer that clients’ information is kept as confidential as possible.

The pressure to diagnose. Insurance companies require that clients are given a mental health diagnosis in order to pay for therapy. We have found that many clients benefit from therapy, but do not meet criteria for a diagnosis. Not using insurance allows clients to access therapy without being given a mental health diagnosis.

Flexibility and freedom. Insurance companies dictate the length and number of sessions they will authorize, as well as when a client is no longer eligible for the benefits of therapy. Because we do not work with insurance panels, you and we can collaborate to determine your individual needs regarding session length, frequency of sessions, and when to terminate therapy.

While we do not accept insurance, many clients choose to submit receipts to their insurance companies to receive reimbursement via out-of-network benefits. We are happy to provide these receipts for you! Please check with your insurance company for details on your benefits.
